#R2182 - Virginia At the time of this application he was at the age of 72. In the spring of the year of 1781 he was drafted for a tour of three months in the company of Captain Colliers in King and Queen County, in the State of Virginia. They spent sometime at Hubbards Old Fields and at Abbington Church and from there they marched to Gloucester and there they were discharged. He served under Colonel Roan and Major Roe. He was then drafter again from the same place to serve under the same officers for a tour of three months and they marched to Abbington Church and from there to Glouchester Point and he served at the Siege of York and guarded the British prisoners to Todd's Bridge and there he was discharged. He served in St. Clair's Campaign under Captain Dark for a tour of nine months and he was at the defeat of St. Clair under Colonel Dark and major Bedinger. After the defeat of St. Clair he moved to Kentucky and lived in Grant County ever since. Joseph Jump, House B. Smith and James Williams swear that at one time they were well acquainted with him. |
