35 In the name of God Amen. I, Martha Cooper of the County of Grant and State of Kentucky being weak of body but of perfect sound and disposing mind, do hereby make ordain and constitute this my last will and testament as follows to wit: First I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried at the discretion of my executors, and as to my worldly affairs, it is my will that all my just debts be first paid. Secondly, that the one third part of two hundred dollars which is due and coming to me from James Leman or his heirs of Lexington and the interest thereon be divided when collected as follows, thirty three and thirty three cents with the interest due thereon to be given to my sons, James Cooper and John Cooper reserving thereout six dollars which is to go in part towards paying a debt I owe Zadack Hawkins of twelve dollars, the balance of the two hundred dollars which is due and coming to me which will be thirty three dollars and thirty three cents with the interest thereon to be equally divided my daughters to wit: Betsy Lawson, Jane Hawkins, Margaret Fallenash, Nancy Fallenash and Sally Owens to them and their heirs forever, reserving thereout six dollars which is to go towards paying the balance of the debt of twelve dollars which is above named which I owe to Zadack Hawkins. I give and bequeath to my son William Cooper the whole of my stock of cattle, hogs and sheep, together with the whole of my household and kitchen furniture of all and every description to him and his heirs forever. And lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my son, William Cooper my sole executor to carry this my last will into effect and I hereby renounce and revoke all and every will or wills by me hereafore made. In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and affixed my seal this 2nd day of September in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand and eight hundred and twenty four. Martha (X) Cooper. State of Kentucky Grant County October Court
1824. I, Martha Cooper of the County of Grant and State of Kentucky having on the 2nd day of this present month made sealed and signed my last will and testament and having appointed my son, William Cooper my sole executor therein, and being desirous th have another executor of my said will, I hereby nominate, constitute and appoint Zaddock Hawkins as an additional executor to act jointly with my said son William in the execution of my said last will and testament.
