In the name of God Amen. I, Jesse Coulson of the County of Grant and State of Kentucky being sick and weak in body, but sound in mind and of a disposing memory for which I thank God and calling to mind the uncertainty of human life and being desirous to dispose of all such worldly estate as it has pleased God to bless me with, I give and bequeath the same in manner following, that is to say,

1st. I desire that a part or as much of my perishable property after my decease be sold and out of the monies arising there from all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid.

2nd. I desire that my beloved wife, Mary Coulson, have all of my estate, both real and personal for and during the term of her natural life, and after her decease, I give the same to my hereinafter mentioned children equally to be divided among them and their heirs forever.

3rd. After the death of my wife, Mary Coulson, I desire all of my estate, both real and personal, be equally divided among William Coulson, Joseph Coulson, (blank-first name not given) Switzer's two children, Manerva and Richard Switzer infants to have one portion divided between them, Francis R. Coulson, Isabella Coulson and Chas. A. Coulson to share equally.

4th. I have heretofore deeded to John W. Coulson, son of Richard Coulson, deceased, fifty acres of land adjoining Robinson Stone to be cut off of the farm on which I now live, it is a sufficient for him.

5th. And after the death of my wife, Mary Coulson, I give and bequeath unto my three sons, John Coulson, Jesse Coulson and Thomas Coulson and my stepson and daughter, Sarah E. Stevens, late Sarah E. Coulson and Zachariah H. Stephens one dollar each and, lastly, I do hereby constitute and appoint my friend Charles Horsman executor of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all other or former wills or testaments by me heretofore made. Grant County Court February Term 1853.
I do certify the foregoing will of Jesse Coulson, deceased, was produced in open court at the term above stated and proven by the oaths of Chas. Horsman and Elijah G. Childes two subscribing witnesses then to which was received and ordered to be recorded and is duly admitted to record in my office, given under my hand this 31st of March 1853.  H.
