In the name of God Amen. I, Newton S. Dickerson of Grant County and State
of Kentucky being weak in body, but of sound and disposing mind do hereby
make and ordain this my last will and testament relative to my worldly affairs,
which I wish disposed of in the manner following, namely,
First, I desire all the debts due me to be collected by the amount which ___ to John N. Smith owes me. The note on Adams which Dan'l McPayne owes me. The rent of the ground occupied by Marian Dickerson which is between twenty and twenty-five acres the rent being for cow? land two dollars per acre and for oats ground one dollar and fifty cents acre. The rent of the field occupied by B. N. Carter when counted into money my gray mare's value when sold and the proceeds of all after items of my personal property to go towards the payment of my debts.
Second, if the property and money named in Item #1 should be sufficient to meet all the demands against me, then I wish my mother to keep for her own use all the money I have by me.
Third, I wish my mother to enjoy the benefits of my fifty acres of land during her life and as she will make her home with my brother, Benjamin F. Dickerson, I wish him to occupy and use it for that purpose during that time and at her decease, I wish my said brother, Benjamin F. Dickerson, to have and to hold all the rights and title to said land by ___ possession to him and his heirs forever.
Fourth, I hereby constitute and appoint Benjamin F. Dickerson my executor to carry into effect the foregoing will. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 23rd day of August 1849. Newton S. Dickerson. Attest: C. J. Lindsay, B. N. Carter.

This last will and testament of Newton S. Dickerson,
deceased, was produced in open court at the term above stated and proven
by the oaths of B. N. Carter and C. J. Lindsay and ordered to be recorded,
whereupon the same is duly admitted to record in my office. Given under my
hand this 1st day of October 1849.
