I, William Dickson of the County of Grant and Commonwealth of Kentucky being in a ____ state of health but sound of mind do make and declare this my last will and testament. It is my wish and will that so soon as the suit now pending for the land I live upon be decided that a deed be procured? therefore to my six children in commonality
and that they ____ the same for the support of themselves and their mother my present wife and school themselves until some one of them shall marry when his separate equal share shall be allotted to him provided however that the share of the four older children shall each separately exceed the share of the last two children in value twenty five dollars and as my land is now in suit if the land should be last then the personal estate of which I die possessed shall be divided in the same proportion, otherwise equally between all my children after my wife has taken her legal sharer thereof. It is my wish and will that so soon as convenient after my death so much of my stock shall be sold as will pay my lawful debts, May 19, 1851. Wm. C. S. (X) Dickson. Attest: Wm. W. Codicil - In addition to the above will it is my desire and I do hereby will and direct that Wm. W. Henderson and T. J. Hardern shall be guardian to my four elder children and joint guardian with their mother, my wife, Betsy Jane to the youngest two children. In testimony whereof I have signed this addition to my above will and wish it to be considered as part thereof and codicil thereto this 11th day of May 1851. William (X) Dickson. State of Kentucky Grant County Court June Term 1851 or 1857.
This last will and testament of Wm. C. S. Dickson, deceased, was produced in open court at the term above stated and proven by the oaths of Woodford Douds and Thomas Dickson the subscribing witnesses thereto which is ordered to be recorded whereupon the same is duly admitted to record in my office. Given under my hand this 2nd of July 1851 or 1857. H. Woodyard, Clerk.

Note:  Because of the handwriting I cannot determine if this will was probated in 1851 or 1857.
