I, Rebecca Downing of Williamstown, Grant County, do hereby make my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say,

First,  I desire after my death that my body be taken to the County of Fayette and laid by the side of my deceased husband.

Second, I desire that my burial expenses be all paid and the expense attendant upon my removal to Fayette out of the money belonging to me.

Third, I have in the hands of N. C. Tunis $100 and Alexander Dunlap $180 due me in Fayette County from John McMahan and I have $140 due me next December from R. S. Coleman and T. L Garrard.

Fourth, I give to my grandchildren, four in number, named as follows: Francis Downing Tunis, Rebecca Elizabeth Tunis, Mary Rebecca Downing and Elizabeth Carter Downing, the above sum of $420 to be divided among the above named grandchildren equally.

Fifth, I give to Frances D. Tunis my six silver tablespoons.

Sixth, I give to Rebecca E. Downing my silver teaspoons.

Seventh, I give to Elizabeth C. Downing my sugar tongs and cream spoons.

Eighth, the residue of my property, both real and personal, I leave for disposal according to law.

And, lastly, I do hereby constitute and appoint my friend, Andrew L. Linn, executor of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all other wills or testaments by me heretofore made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 5th day of July 1849.  Rebecca (X) Downing.

Signed, sealed and declared as the last will and testament of the above named Rebecca Downing in the presence of us, J. H. Lingenfelter, John F. Sheriff.

State of Kentucky Grant County Court August Term 1849.
This last will and testament of Rebecca Downing, deceased, was returned to court at the term above stated and proved in open court by the oaths of J. H. Lingenfelter and John F. Sheriff, the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded, whereupon the same is duly recorded in my office. Given under my hand this 5th day of September 1849. Wm. Smith, Clerk by E. H.
