N. R. Gregg - Page 159.
In the name of God Amen! I, N. R. Gregg of Williamstown, Grant County, and the State of Kentucky, being weak in body, but as I believed and trust, in my right mind, possessing all my mental facilities, knowing it is appointed once for man to die, and feeling that my stay in this family is but for a little while at most, and desiring to make provision for my family by a proper disposition of my worldly effects, do hereby make and cause to be made and ordained this my last will and testament, to wit:

Item First. After all my just debts shall have been paid, it is my wish that my beloved wife, Susan J. Gregg, shall hold and control during the time she may remain my widow, all my property of every kind and species whatever, for the interest, benefit and welfare of herself and our children. Such use and control, I desire to be as full, perfect and effectual for the purpose mentioned, as they would be if ____ by myself for similar purposes. But should she marry again, then I desire my property above  named to be disposed of and secured for my children's benefit in such a manner as the law now requires in such cases.

Item Second. It is my wish and desire that the partnership now existing between. P. T. Zinn and myself shall continue as it now is, at least for the year of 1837, and should P. T. Zinn and my wife, Susan J. Gregg, mutually agree to continue the partnership now existing indefinitely under the belief that it would result to the interest of my family as well as to said Zinn's benefit, it is my wish that the same be done.

Item Third. I wish and desire that during the continuance of the said firm of Gregg and Zinn, that P. T. Zinn shall manage the business of the concern in buying, selling, receiving and disbursing, being liable to be called to settlement as others are and the firm liable to dissolution after the present year. But as I have all the confidence in P. T. Zinn that one man can have in another, I have no fears of anything happening disadvantageous to the interest of my family, and I hereby nominate my friend and partner in trade, P. T. Zinn, as the executor of this my last will and testament, and request the court to appoint him as such. In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name this 3rd day of June 1857. Signed N. R. Gregg. Signed in the presents of B. N. Carter, W. Harrison, K. G. Carter.

Grant County Court Term June 22, 1857.
The foregoing will of N. R. Gregg, deceased, was produced to court at the term above stated and proved by the oaths of B. K. and K. G. Carter, attesting witnesses present, who also proved the attestation of W. Harrison and the signature of N. R. Gregg to be the last will and testament of said Gregg, which after being examined was then ordered to record. Whereupon the same is duly recorded in my office this 16th day of July 1857. Att: B. N. Carter Clerk, K. G. Carter, Deputy Clerk.
