In the name of God Amen. I Lewis Gregory of Grant County and State of Kentucky, being weak of body but of sound mind and memory and knowing it is appointed of God for all men to die, do hereby make and pronounce this as my last will and testament after recommending my soul to God who gave it, hoping that he will dispose of it as best suits his mercy, touching my worldly goods it is my will that they be disposed of as follows, to wit:

First, I give unto my wife, Benedictor Gregory, the land together with the plantation whereon I now live, during her widowhood together with so much of stock, household furniture and farming utensils, as will be sufficient to support the family, but if my wife, Benedictor, should marry then and in that case she is only to be entitled her third.

Secondly, I give my land and estate unto my six children, to wit: Brunetta Gregory, Rosetta Gregory, Thruston Gregory, Nancy Gregory, Jesse Gregory, Emary Gregory, at the death of my wife unless she should marry, then and in that case she is to have her third and the balance of my said estate to be equally divided among my said children as they come to age. If on the time of my accounts and note they should not be sufficient payment, then I direct that so much of my property should be sold as will pay the balance. I do hereby appoint my wife, Benedictor, executor and Wm. Mountjoy and James Collins executors to this my last will and testament whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 9th day of January 1821.  Lewis Gregory. Codicil March 24, 1823
This is to certify that I do appoint William Woodyard executor in my last will and testament in place of William Mountjoy, deceased. Given under my hand and seal this day and date above mentioned. Lewis Gregory. Attest: Robert (X) Crook, William Crook.

State of Kentucky Grant County.
This last will and testament of Lewis Gregory, dec'd, was produced and proved in open court by the oaths of Henry Woodyard and William Ford and ordered to be recorded. Attest: H. B. Smith, GCCC.
