Private John Hamilton Jr., Pension #W-1759, Pennsylvania. Served under Captain Thomas Paxton's Company of Rangers, Bedford County, Pennsylvania from September 16 through November 13, 1776. He received 59 days of pay and rations according to Captain Thomas Paxton's reports. He received his pension while living in Bracken County, Kentucky.
John Hamilton Jr. was born November 1, 1765 in Baltimore, Maryland just five years after his parents, John and Elizabeth (Carryl) Hamilton Sr. came to America from North Ireland. He married Deborah Perkins, Sherman Valley, Perry County, Pennsylvania on June 30, 1788. They then moved to Northumberland, Pennsylvania before they came to Kentucky. John, Deborah and his parents, John and Elizabeth (Carryl) Hamilton left Virginia and are found in Mason County, Kentucky, then Bracken County, Kentucky. The latter being where they settled and raised their family. Their known children are: Elizabeth, William, John O., Mary (Polly), and Jane/Jean. John Hamilton died July 11, 1849 in Bracken County, Kentucky. His wife, Deborah, died in 1855 also in Bracken County, Kentucky.
