| Preston Hampton - Page 375 In the name of God, Amen. I, Preston Hampton of Grant County, Kentucky make and ordain this my last will and testament hereby revoking all wills heretofore made by me. First, I will my soul to God and my body to the earth. To be buried in a decent Christian like manner. Second, I will that all my just debts be paid out of my estate by my executors, hereafter mentioned. Third, I will one third of my estate to my beloved wife, Elizabeth Hampton, during her natural life, and then to be equally divided amongst my five children, to wit, Elizabeth Busch, Nancy Gipson, Polly Spencer, James Hampton, Susana Arnold, and Rosanne Jack. I will $100 to Polly Spencer and $100 to Susanna Arnold (extra). I also will that $30 be paid to Rosanna Jack which I owe her to be paid out of my estate by my executors. Fifth, I will that all of my personal and chattel estate be sold by my executors to the highest bidder at one years credit. Sixth, I will that my real estate be sold by my executors at one and two year credit in equal installments and be divided equally amongst my six children. I hereby authorize my executors to make a deed or deeds to purchases when the last payment is made. I appoint John Gipson, James Hampton, and James Arnold my executors to this my last will and testament. Witnessed my hand and seal this 18th day of April 1831. Preston Hampton. Attest: A. D.
