In the name of God Amen, I, Hosea Harris Sr. now residing on the waters of Forklick Creek, County of Grant and State of Kentucky, being in my right mind or being of sound mind do make this my last will and testament, renouncing all others. First, I will and bequeath my body to the dust from which it came and my soul into the hands of God who gave it.

Secondly, I will and bequeath after my death or decease that the farm on which I now live with the balance of the tract of land containing 95 acres to my wife, Margret Harris, with all the balance of the property, bed, clock, tables, cupboards, with all and everything in any way belonging or pertaining to the said Harris for her use and benefit as long as she may live, and at her death to her son, John Marshall, conditioned however as follows: that if the said John Marshall shall stay and continue with his mother, Margaret Harris, and take good care of her and the said farm as long as she, Margaret Harris, shall live so that she may not want or suffer for any of the necessaries of life and in case he, John Marshall, shall not comply with the above condition then he is not to have, enjoy, any of this my will.

Thirdly, I will to my son, Daniel Harris or his heirs, one dollar. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 20th of January 1840.  Hosea (X) Harris. Attest: Rosell (X) Burrows, James (X) Collins, J. H. Roberson.

State of Kentucky Grant County.
I. H. B. Smith, clerk of the County Court of the County of aforesaid certify that this will of Hosea Harris Sr. was produced to the Grant County Court at the March Term 1840 and proven by the oaths of R. Burrows, James Collins and James H. Robinson the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded which is accordingly done. Att: H. B. Smith, Clerk by Wm. Smith, Deputy Clerk.
