I, James Howe of Grant County, Kentucky being an old man do make this my last will and testament, to wit:

First, after my decease and burial I wish all my land that I own at the time of my death to be sold at public sale of six twelve and eighteen months credit by my executor to be herein after named, and after paying all my just debts, the balance of the land to be divided amongst all my children, namely, Thomas Howe I leave five dollars and all the rest of the monty to be equally divided between Sarah Winans, Polly McGlason, Loucinda Howe, Rebecca Williams and Elizabeth May.

Secondly, I leave to my daughter, Loucinda Howe all my personal property consisting of one mare and household furniture.

Thirdly, I leave James Winans as my executor and I direct that the court shall not require security on the administration of the same and he is hereby authorized to convey all my title to said land as my executor. Witnessed my hand and seal this 21st day of August 1853.  James Howe. Attest: Jesse Robinson, Thomas Clark.

The foregoing will of James Howe was returned at the term above, stated, received and ordered to be recorded which is admitted to record this 22nd day of December 1853.    H. Woodyard, Clerk, by P. B. Woodyard, Deputy Clerk.
