Cinderella Humphrey

Miss Cinderella Childers was born in Grant County, Kentucky, October 18, 1828, and when but three years old her father moved to Illinois and settled near Burton, Adams County, Illinois, where she grew up and was married March 30, 1851 to Mr. Wm. V. Humphrey. To them were born six children, five of whom are living and were all in attendance upon their mother's funeral. Mr. Humphrey died near Payson August 22, 1883. Subsequently the family moved to the village, occupying a part of the house owned by Mrs. Pulman. Soon after coming to this place Mrs. Humphrey met with a painful accident, from which she never fully recovered, but the real cause of her death was disease of the lungs. Her demise occurred February 26, 1885, she being in her 57th year. She never made a public profession of religion, but seemed not afraid to die and said she was trusting in Jesus.    Geo. B. Wolfe.
