Moses Jacobs
Moses Jacobs was a resident of Grant County, Kentucky in 1820 when it was formed out of the western half of Pendleton County. He had first appeared on the Pendleton County tax list in 1818 as the owner of three slaves. In the 1820 Grant County Census, his family consisted of one male under age 10, one male between 26 and 45 and one female between 16 and 26. Information from later records indicates that Moses Jacobs was born about 1783 in Virginia. His wife, Mary/Polly B. Daniel, daughter of Charles Daniel, was born in Kentucky in 1820. In 1821 Moses Jacobs was taxed on four slaves and 100 acres of land in the Eagle Creek watershed. After 1825 his land is sometimes described as being on Grassy Creek. Their family:

Jacobs, born 1850, (C) Mary C. Jacobs, born September 15, 1853, (D) Irvin P. Jacobs, born February 10, 1856, (E) Joseph T. Jacobs, born 1858.
3. Benjamin Jacobs, born in 1823 in Kentucky, married in Grant County April 25, 1848, Caroline Jump, born 1832 in Kentucky. Their children: (A) James WIlliam Jacobs, born 1851, married December 18, 1873, Narcissus Webster, born 1855 in Grant County, Kentucky, (B) Samuel C. Jacobs, born 1854, (C) Cassius C. Jacobs, born 1859, (D) Lafayette Jacobs, born 1861, (E) Asa Jacobs, born 1864, and (F) Lucinda Jacobs, born 1867.
4. Robert B. Jacobs, born 1825 in Kentucky, married Frances. Their child: (A) Alvin Jacobs, born 1849.
5. Franklin Jacobs, born 1827 in Kentucky, married in Grant County, April 24, 1850, Mary Jane Marksberry, born 1834, daughter of William Marksberry and Sally Jump. Their children: (A) Miranda Jacobs, born 1855 in Grant County, married December 8, 1874, George Morgan, born 1851 in Owen County, (B) William Jacobs, born January 17, 1860, married December 18, 1879 in Grant County, Sara Jump, born May 3, 1862, (C) Sallie Jacobs, born March 1862, (D) Hiram Jacobs, born August 1863, (E) Taylor Jacobs, born December 1866, married Daisie Riterson, (F) Trecie Jacobs, born 1868, (G) Benjamin Franklin Jacobs, born 1872, and (H) Thomas Jacobs, born 1874.
6. Moses K. Jacobs, born September 11, 1834 in Kentucky, died February 7, 1910 in Franklin County.

8. Charles T. Jacobs was born April 21,1840. He married Sophie G. Hall. She was born April 29, 1849 and died December 18, 1903, both buried in North Fork Cemetery, Franklin County, Kentucky. Their children: (A) Susan M. Jacobs, born August 31, 1872, died March 25, 1879, (B) Edward M. Jacobs, born September 23, 1874, died March 14, 1879, (C) Julia Jacobs, born November 1880, (D) John B. Jacobs, born August 1883, (E) Charles M. Jacobs, born July 6, 1888, died October 10, 1957.
