John E. Leming
John
E. Leming, 84, of Crestview Hills, formerly of Williamstown, died Monday,
June 15, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood. He was
a chief mechanic airplane operations department for 24 years for Proctor
and Gamble
Company in Cincinnati
and also a mechanic for American Airlines for 10 years. He was a Navy veteran
of World War II and U. S. Air Force Reserve for three years. He was a member
of Southeastern Indiana Music Association, Hall of Fame 2001 Inductee, member
of Good Faith Lodge Number 05, member of Model A Ford Restorers club, member
and past treasurer for 14 years of Grant County Historical Society and member
and former trustee of Erlanger Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by
his parents, Marcus Samuel Leming and Ruth Dahling Leming. Survivors include
his wife, Carolyn VanTyle Leming of Crestview Hills; daughter, Jane Leming
McKinley of Goshen; son, John E. Leming, Jr. of Cold Springs; brothers, Carl
Allen Leming of Florence and Sam Leming of Independence; sister, Jo Ann Gillespie
of Florence; stepson, Dennis Baldwin of Rising Sun, Indiana; step daughters,
Brenda Selmeyer of Aurora, Indiana, Julie Wade of Evansville, Indiana, Mary
Bailey of Rising Sun, Indiana and Kathy Wilkerson of Brookville, Indiana;
three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held
June 19 at Erlanger Baptist Church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in
Ft. Mitchell.
