In the name of God Amen. I, Thomas Montgomery of Grant County and State
of Kentucky being sound in mind but weak in body to make and order this my
last will and testament.
First, I give unto my beloved wife, Rachel Montgomery, all my estate consisting of household and kitchen furniture, my hogs and cattle except the last springs calves one of which I give unto my grandsons, William Montgomery, and the other to Toliver, my corn and wheat I ordain to be appropriated to the use paying my just debts and whatever my be left I give as above unto my beloved wife, Rachel Montgomery. I further ordain and give unto my daughter, Nancy Whittock one dollar, unto my son John Montgomery one dollar, and to my son Thomas Montgomery one dollar.
In witness hereof I set my hand this 12th day of November 1833. Thomas Montgomery. Witnesses: William P. Green, Reuben Collins, Lewis (X) Collins.
State of Kentucky Grant
County.
I, H. B. Smith, clerk of the county court for the county aforesaid certify
that this will of Thomas Montgomery, deceased, was produced to the Grant
County Court at the March term 1840 and proved by the oath of William P.
Green and R. Collins, two of the subscribing witnesses hereto and ordered
to be recorded which is accordingly done in my office. Att: H. B. Smith,
Clerk, by Wm. Smith, Deputy Clerk.
