I, Archibald Norton of the County of Grant and State of Kentucky being of sound mind but weak of body and wishing to settle my business do make this my last will and testament.

First, I will that my wife have my place on which I now live for two years with all the personal property forever to use as she thinks proper and as there is a suit pending as to the title of the land I will that all the legal costs be paid and after the termination of the two years which my wife has in the place, then all of the land saved to be divided according to law, the money for which I sold my hogs this winter is two hundred and seventy-one dollars and 85 cents and is in a note given by John S. Morgan to John Myers which money John Myers is to collect and I will that he, John Myers, pay the same over to my wife, and lastly,

I will and appoint my wife and my brother, George Norton, my executrix and executor to carry this my will into effect. In testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand and affix my seal this 15th day of March 1848.  Archibald (X) Norton.  Done in presence of Charles Ruddell, George Perry Ruddell.

State of Kentucky Grant County Court April Term 1848.
I, William Smith, Clerk of the county court for the county aforesaid do certify that the foregoing last will of Archibald Norton, deceased, was produced to court at the term above stated and proven by the oath of C. Ruddell subscribing witness thereto to be the act and deed of the said A. Norton. Whereupon the same was ordered to be recorded which is accordingly done in my office this 3rd day of July 1848.
