Edward Points
Edward Points was born circa 1758, probably in Ireland, and may be the Edward Points who served in the Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania Militia in 1778 and 1785. By 1797, he was in Scott County, Kentucky, along with Arthur Points, relationship unknown. He was found also in Clark County. By 1809 he is on Pendleton County tax list and he remained there and in Grant County until his death in 1824. His wife appeared to be living in the 1820 Census for Grant County, but her name is not known. Their children include:
1. Martha (by 1800-c1842), married Robert Brown July 22, 1817 in Indiana, died in Schuyler County, Illinois.
2. Nancy (by 1800-), married Thomas Curry November 17, 1819, resided in Grant County through 1827.
3. Mary/Polly (1794-December 1876), born "Boonville, Grant County", married Ralph/Raphael Wilson July 22, 1817 in Switzerland County, Indiana, the same date and place as sister Martha. They resided in Grant County until the early 1830s, when they migrated to Schuyler County, Illinois where Mary/Polly died. She is buried in the West Camden Cemetery there.
4. Edward (c1798-c1870), married Elizabeth Lee April 17, 1825. They were survived by three daughters who resided in the Grant County area: Abigail, wife of Thomas McClure; Lutitia, wife of John Lucas; and Nancy, wife of Pendleton Jump.
5. Francis (c1811-by1880), married (1) Elizabeth Beach July 9, 1829, divorced about 1838, four children; (2) Susannah Brooks about 1840, 5 children; and (3) Julia A. ?, about 1858 probably in Missouri, ten children. Francis probably died in Dade County, Missouri. Only three children from his first marriage remained in Kentucky.
6. Rebecca (c1807-August 2, 1872), married Robert Brooks November 22, 1826. They remained in Grant County until circa 1834, when they moved to Schuyler County, Illinois.
7. Elizabeth O. (c1813-March 1850), probable underage daughter when Edward and his wife died in the early 1820s, where she married Ezekiel Clayton August 28, 1844.
8. Nathaniel, possible son of Edward and his wife, married Elizabeth Burns August 4, 1841 in Grant County. Age of bride attested to by Frances Points. There is a Nathaniel in the early Grant County tax lists and again in 1842-44. Thereafter Nathaniel disappears with no further record.
