Benjamin Salla - Page 121
In the name of God Amen. I, Benjamin Salla of the County of Grant and the State of Kentucky, being weak in body and of sound mind and memory, thanks be given unto God, calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament, that is to say principally and first of all, I give and recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in a decent Christian burial at the directive of my executors, nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life, I give, devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form:

First. I give and bequeath to my son, Henry Salla, one feather bed, two coverlets and one sheet and no more, he being otherwise provided for before. I also give and bequeath to my daughter, Melvina, one dollar and no more, she being otherwise provided for before. I also give and bequeath all and every other part or parcel of my estate to my wife, Nancy, during her life time or widowhood and she is to pay all my just debts and to school Polly T. Salla, my daughter, sufficient to make her equal with Caty, and I make her my soul executor of this my lat will and testament and at her death the whole of the estate with the land to be equally divided between my son, William Salla, my daughters, Caty and Polly T. Salla, and I do hereby disanul all and every other will and testament whatever made and make this my last will and testament in testimony hereof. I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal, this 22 day of August in the year of our Lord 1839.  Benjamin Salla.

Done in the presence of us and in the presence of each other, we have severally subscribed our names. John Sipple, Jesse Osburn, John (X) Jump Jr.
