S. E. Scott - Page 439
Grant County, Kentucky, September 28, 1852.
I, S. E. Scott of the county and state aforesaid being of normal mind and disposing memory, I having in view that at some future day that I shall have to go to the road of all flesh and after my departure from this life, I will and bequeath to J. C. Scott every thing belonging to me of my estate, both real and personal for his use and benefit after my debts are paid and intend this to confirm a former obligation between J. C. Scott and myself, bearing date of 22nd day of April 1840 and for his affection to me. I consider that he is fully entitled to the above and it is my desire that he should not be ruled to give security in court as my executor but to be my executor alone. In testimony I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal. E. S. Scott. Witnesses: Jas. S. Reed and Larkin Fulilove.
