Bartholomew Taylor as born February 17, 1755 in Somerset County, Maryland. Names of parents not mentioned. No reference is made to wife or children. He was a resident of Somerset County, Maryland at enlistment. In 1796 he moved to Bracken County, Kentucky, where he was still living in 1834. Date of death not known.
When the veteran applied for pension, he stated that he enlisted in the summer of 1778 and served at various times, amounting to six months as Private with the Maryland Troops under Captains Joseph Venibles and Baily, and Colonel George Deshield.
Bartholomew Taylor was pensioned on Certificate 26780, which was issued under the Act of June 7, 1832. The pension was paid at the Kentucky Agency.
