The
last will and testament of Moses Theobald of the County of Grant and State
of Kentucky. I, Moses Theobald, considering the uncertainty of this mortal
life and being of sound mind and memory do make and publish this my last
will and testament in manner and form following:
First. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Area? Theobald two thousand dollars in cash, one bed, bedstead and furniture, one horse saddle and bridle as her portion of my estate.
Secondly: I give and bequeath to my beloved granddaughter, Sarah Frances Conrad, the sum of four hundred dollars as her portion of my estate.
Thirdly. I wish the balance of my estate both real and personal all to be sold and the proceeds to be equally divided among the balance of my children, to wit: my beloved sons, James B. Theobald, William Theobald, Henry B. Theobald, Clement Theobald and my beloved daughters, Sarah Williams, Frances Cook, and the three children of my beloved daughter, Elizabeth Bradford, deceased, Moses Bradford, John Bradford and Alexander Bradford these three boys to have their mother's part of my estate. And I appoint my beloved brother, Sanford A. Theobald, sole executor of my estate with full power to sell and convey my land both here and in Illinois with my personal estate. In testimony whereof I have set my hand and affixed by seal the 23rd day of March in the year of our Lord, 1858. Signed Moses Theobald. Attest: William Tucker, Wm. McDowell, John T. Clark.
Grant County
Court August Term 1858.
The
foregoing will and testament of Moses Theobald, deceased, was produced to
court at the term above stated, and after being proved by the oaths of
John T. Clark and Wm. McDowell, attesting witnesses thereto, the same
then was ordered to record. Whereupon the same is duly recorded in my office
