Henry Webster
Henry Webster was born about 1779 in Virginia. He married Margaret Franks in Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky. She was born about 1785,the daughter of John Martin Franks and Elizabeth Lail. Henry enlisted in the War of 1812 in Fayette County, Kentucky on March 29, 1818 for a term of six months. He was a Private in Captain Archibald Morrison's Company of Infantry, 13th Regiment of Kentucky Militia. He was with Colonel William Dudley at the Battle of Dudley's Defeat and was taken prisoner May 5, 1813. Henry was paroled and landed at the mouth of the Huron River about May 14. Upon his return to Kentucky from the war, Henry died somewhere in the State of Ohio in June 1813. His estate appraisal is recorded in Will Book C, October 1813 in Fayette County, Kentucky. An examination of the accounts of Johns Franks for the estate of Henry Webster is recorded in Will Book E, May 1819 in Fayette County, Kentucky. After Henry's death, Margaret married David Burns on August 28, 1816 in Fayette County, Kentucky. Margaret made application in Grant County, Kentucky on April 7, 1851 for bounty land to which she believed she was entitled, according to an act passed September 28, 1850 which granted bounty land to certain officers and soldiers who had been engaged in the military service of the United States. She stated on the application that she married Henry Webster in Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky, December 25, 1800. She further stated that the license authorizing their marriage was issued from and returned to the office of the Clerk of the County Court of Fayette County, which office, together with the records thereof, was destroyed by fire in 1803. She later stated on the application that she and Henry Webster were married in Lexington on December 25, 1802. Their known children:
1.John Webster was born about 1805 in Fayette County, Kentucky. He married Polly Kinchloe, September 18, 1828, in Grant County, Kentucky. John filed for divorce November 24, 1833 in Grant County, claiming Polly had been unfaithful to him. The divorce was granted in August Term of the Grant County Court in 1834.
2. William Webster was born about 1806 in Fayette County, Kentucky. He married Virginia Beach on August 1, 1824 in Grant County, Kentucky. He married second, Sally Webster, October 25, 1831, in Grant County, Kentucky. The children of William and Virginia: (1) Elizabeth Webster, no information. (2) Nancy Ann Webster was born about 1827 and died May 1, 1878 in Crawford County, Indiana. She married William Harvey Franks on February 24, 1848 in Boone County, Kentucky. William Harvey enlisted in Company B., 11th Kentucky Cavalry July 16, 1862 in Grant County, Kentucky at age 33. He was mustered into Federal service September 22, 1862 in Louisville, Kentucky for a term of three years. He served with his regiment until January 8, 1863 when he was "on detached duty in Gallatin, Tennessee." On January 20, 1863, he deserted his regiment. Records do no show a listing of his return, but he was with his regiment in Georgia in July 1864 when he was captured. He was held in Confederate prisons until February 26, 1865, when he was released at Wilmington, North Carolina. He then traveled to the Union Paroled Prisoner Camp in Maryland where he was placed in Hospital #1. He was sent from Maryland to Cincinnati, Ohio, and was on his way to Louisville when he died aboard the Steamer General Buell of remittent fever on March 23, 1865. He is buried in Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky. In June 1870 Nancy Ann (Webster) Franks was listed on Indiana Census as a resident of the Sterling Township in Crawford County, Indiana. On December 11, 1870, she married Greenville Satterfield in Crawford County, Indiana. The children of William Harvey Franks and Nancy Ann Webster:

Sarah Frances Franks was born December 3, 1848 in Kentucky and died May 17,
1933 in Crawford County, Indiana. She married Andrew Satterfield April 11,
1864 in Indiana. He was born September 4, 1843 in English Indiana and died
July 1, 1907 in English, Indiana. They are buried in Mt. Sterling Cemetery
in Crawford County, Indiana.
(b) Elizabeth Jane Franks
was born September 3, 1850 in Grant County, Kentucky and died May 25, May
25, 1931 in Owen County, Kentucky. She married William Butler Cammack on
May 28, 1868 in Crawford County, Indiana. He was born 1850 and died October
10, 1942 in Owen County, Kentucky. They are buried in the IOOF Cemetery in
Owenton,
Kentucky.

Mary Ann Franks was born December 29, 1852 in Kentucky and died March 11,
1911 in Crawford County, Indiana. She married William H. Satterfield March
31, 1870 in Crawford County, Indiana. She is buried in the Beasley Cemetery
in Indiana.
(d) Malinda M. Franks
was born March 10, 1855 in Kentucky and died February 3, 1944 in Crawford
County, Indiana. She married John F. Haycock on October 12, 1871 in Crawford
County, Indiana. After John's death, she married Woodson Satterfield on August
24, 1882 in Crawford County, Indiana. They are buried at Mt. Sterling Cemetery
in Crawford County, Indiana.
(e) Nancy Ann Franks
was born July 15, 1857 in Kentucky and married John Day December 15, 1874
in Indiana.
(f) Eliza Ann Franks
was born May 14, 1859 in Kentucky and died February 12, 1937 in Indiana.
She married Phillip Barnett November 19, 1879 in Crawford County, Indiana.
After Phillip's death, she married James M. Newkirk July 21, 1892 in Crawford
County, Indiana. James and Eliza are buried in Grantsburg Cemetery in Crawford
County,
Indiana.

William A. Franks was born August 6, 1861 in Kentucky and died December 14,
1937 in Harrison County, Indiana. He married Myma D. Kendall on December
5, 1885 in Orange County, Indiana. She was born September 9, 1863 in Indiana
and died July 9, 1926 in Harrison County, Indiana. After her death, William
married Nettie Dillman in Crawford County, Indiana on November 12, 1928.
William A. and Myma are buried in Heidelberg Cemetery southwest of Corydon,
Indiana.
3. Ann Webster married Cornelius Webster on November 15, 1823 in Fayette County, Kentucky. David Burns, as her guardian, gave consent for her marriage.
4. Phebe Webster was born about 1812 in Fayette County, Kentucky and died November 17, 1857 in Crawford County, Indiana. She married Jeptha Beasley on May 30, 1829 in Fayette County, Kentucky. He was born about 1806 and died May 15, 1891 in English, Indiana. They are buried in Mt. Sterling Cemetery in Crawford County, Indiana.
David Burns died intestate in Grant County, Kentucky in September 1837 or 1838, so said Margaret. On November 12, 1838, Margaret was appointed administrator of his estate, with John Webster and Addison Beach as her securities. On the same day, George S. Gravit, John Franks, John McClure and B. James Webster were appointed commissioners to appraise the personal estate of David Burns and make an inventory thereof. The known children of David and Margaret Burns:
1. James Burns was born about 1818. he married Malinda Gravit in Grant County, Kentucky on March 15, 1838. David Burns gave consent for his son to marry.
2.Thomas Burns was born between 1820-1823.
3. Henry Burns married Elizabeth Wilson on April 22, 1841 in Grant County. Margaret Burns, mother of the groom, gave her consent for the marriage of her son.
4. Cornelius Burns was born about 1827 in Fayette County, Kentucky. He married Melissa Wilson March 12, 1856 in Grant County, Kentucky. She was born August 12, 1840 in Grant County, Kentucky. Cornelius died August 5, 1892 in Lewis County, Missouri, and his wife, Melissa, died in the same county on May 19, 1894. They are buried in LaBelle Cemetery, Lewis County, Missouri.
5. George Burns was born 1830. He married Nancy (Hicks) Skirvin in Grant County, Kentucky on December 10, 1860.
