Andrew Combs Mortage

 Whereas I am indebted to James R. Roberts and S. P. Brandenburgh in the just and full sum of four hundred dollars for which they have a note of this date now for the purpose of securing to said Roberts and Branderburgh in the full payment of said sum of four hundred dollars, I have this day sold and mortgaged to said Roberts and Brandenburgh & by these premises do sell and mortgage the following property. Two hundred and sixty saw logs, oak and poplar now on the lands of Armina Akers, and three work steers; two of them (known as the Jake Tollen steers) red, and one white steer, all of said property is in Lee County Ky.
 Now it is expressly agreed and understood that if I shall pay off and satisfy the said Roberts and Brandenburgh the said Roberts and Brandenburgh the said sum of four hundred dollars with the interest accrued thereon on or before the first day of June 1888, then this sale or Mortgage is to be null and void, Otherwise to remain in full force and effect. Given under my hand this 10th day of May 1888.

 I C. B. Hill, Clerk of the lee County Court, hereby certify that the foregoing Mortgage from Andrew Combs to James R. Roberts and S. P. Brandenburgh was this day produced to me in my office and acknowledged by the said Andrew Combs to be his act and deed for the purposes therein named and said mortgage was also lodged for records. Whereupon the foregoing mortgage and this certificate have been duly recorded in my said office.  Given under my hand this the 10th day of May 1888.
