Thursday, 19 July 1956Mrs. Georgia Bowman Igo died at her home in Hazard, Sunday, July 8, following a heart attack.
Mrs. Igo, the daughter of the late Alex and Cora Coomer Bowman, was born at Tallega, August 29, 1902 and spent a part of her life in Lee county.
She is survived by her husband, Arlie Igo of Hazard; one daughter, Mrs. Geraldine Williams who is on Okinawa Island; one son, Charles Gene Igo of Hazard; five brothers, Walker Bowman of Tallega, Chester Bowman of Buffalo, N.Y., Henry Bowman of Newport, Homer Bowman of Lexington, and James Bowman of South Lebanon, Ohio; four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Medcalf of Covington, Mrs. Edna Browning of Tallega, Mrs. Grace Browning of South Lebanon, Ohio and Mrs. Betty Louden of Fulton, also four grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted in the First Baptist Church of Hazard. The Rev. Wm. Barr officiated and burial was in the Riverview Cemetery.

Thursday, 4 April 1935Heidelberg, April 3 -- Funeral services were conducted for Earl Isaacs, 22, here at 3 o'clock this afternoon and the body buried in the Brandenburg graveyard.
The body of Mr. Isaacs was found on a railroad track which runs near his home just outside of Middletown, Ohio. It is said the body had been run over by two trains - one going in each direction. It is also said that there was only five cents found on the body although he was known to have had several dollars. The killing occurred last Saturday.
He is survived by his widow and a child less than a year old, and his father, W. P. Isaacs.

Thursday, 31 May 1951Funeral services with Masonic rites were held Thursday afternoon for Joe Isaacs, 79, who died at his home near New Zion last Wednesday of a heart ailment.
Mr. Isaacs was the last surviving member of the family of Will Isaacs, a one time prominent Owsley and Jackson farmer.
Mr. Isaacs left surviving him his wife, Mary Jane Farmer Isaacs; four sons, McKinley Isaacs, Lexington; Robert Isaacs, Lexington; Charlie Isaacs, Cincinnati, and Ben Isaacs, Norwood, Ohio. Two daughters also surviving are Mrs. Gladys Wright of Hazard and Mrs. Effie Lakes of Lexington.
Burial was in the New Zion Cemetery with Rev. Walter of Manchester, officiating.
Thoas attending the funeral from Beattyville were Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Farmer, Mr. and Mrs. Calloway Elkins, Betty Faye Howell, and Mrs. Gladys Shackelford.
Mrs. Isaacs is the sister of Mr. Floyd Farmer.

Thursday, 8 November 1956Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Isaacs, 82, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 9, at the home by Rev. W. R. Royce.
Mrs. Isaacs, the daughter of the late Patrick and Mary Jane Brandenburg, was born in Lee County in 1879 and died at her home November 6, of a heart attack.
She was a member of the Baptist Church and was the last member of the Patrick Brandenburg family.
She is survived by three sons, Gentry Isaacs, Texas; Conley and Adolphus Isaacs, both of Beattyville; three daughters: Mrs. Claude Allen, Pennsylvania; Miss Effie Isaacs and Mrs. Marie I. Brandenburg, both of Beattyville; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in the Christian Gap Cemetery with King Justice Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Thursday, 8 November 1956Beattyville, Nov. 7 -- Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Isaacs, 82, died Tuesday night at her home here. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Gentry Isaacs, Texas, and Conley and Adolphus Isaacs, Beattyville, and three daughters, Mrs. Nettie Allen, Pennsylvania, and Miss Effie Isaacs and Mrs. Marie Brandenburg, Beattyville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at the residence by the Rev. W. R. Royce. Burial will be in the Christian Gap Cemetery at Blaines Branch. The body was removed to the residence from the King Justice Funeral Home at Booneville.

Friday, 6 January 1939Matilda Isaacs, age 64, died at her home near Endee, Wednesday night, January 4.
She was the wife of Senator Isaacs and is survived by three brothers: Jake, Burl and Thomas.
Funeral services and burial will be held Friday at Endee.

Friday, 22 April 1938Mrs. Rissie Ross Isaacs died the 19th of April with pneumonia fever at her home here.
She was buried the 20th near her home.
Mrs. Isaacs leaves a husband, five children, five brothers, one sister and many relatives and friends to mourn her loss.

Thursday, 21 October 1954Susie Isaacs, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tinsley L. Combs, was born April 18, 1869 and died on October 16, 1954, at 7:45 p.m. at the age of 85.
She was united in marriage to Isaac B. Isaacs in 1888 and to this union was born seven sons, which are living and two daughters deceased. She was united in the Christian Church about 23 years ago. She has lived a faithful life ever since. She was a kind, loving mother, and made friends with all she met.
The survivors are three sisters, three brothers, seven sons, 43 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
The funeral service was conducted by Rev. George Botner and Rev. Hubert Baker.

Thursday, 19 March 1936Berea, Ky., March 19 - Former State Senator William Isaacs, 63, died at his home on the Short Line pike near Berea Wednesday night after a long illness with heart trouble.
Funeral services will be held at the residence at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon with Rev. C. C. Isaacs, cousin of William Isaacs, officiating. Burial will be in Berea cemetery.
Mr. Isaacs is survived by his wife, Mrs. Matilda Bowman Isaacs; one daughter, Mrs. Ruby Short, Hillandale, Saskatchewan, Canada; two sons, Murland Isaacs, Fort Lewis, Washington, and Harry Isaacs, Berea; two brothers, Andrew Isaacs, Somerset, and Pleas Isaacs, Washington, D.C., and three sisters, Mrs. Mary E. Morris and Miss Lizzie Isaacs, both of Bond, Ky., and Mrs. S. F. Lucas, Berea.

Tuesday, 9 February 1954Beattyville, Feb. 8 - William Preston Isaacs, 76-year-old retired oil field worker and former deputy sheriff and magistrate of Lee county, died late Sunday at his home at Idamay after a long illness.
A native of Owsley county, he had resided in Lee county for many years. He was a member of the Beattyville Baptist church.
Surviors include his wife, Mrs. Gertie Frisby Isaacs; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Kincaid, Middletown, Ohio; a brother, Dexter Isaacs, Dry Ridge; four sisters, Mrs. Dovie Breeding and Mrs. Rachael Tincher, Idamay; Mrs. Maggie Tirey, Beattyville, and Mrs. Kate Gilum, Chicago, Ill.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Idamay schoolhouse by the Rev. George Fox. Burial will be in the Brandenburg cemetery at Heidelberg. Congleton Brothers funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
