Will of Andy B. Shoemaker


Know All Men by these presents:

That I Andy B. SHOEMAKER, being of sound and disposing mind and memory, and knowing the extent of my personal property and worldly goods and the object of my bounty? do by this writing in the prence of Almighty God and these honorable witnesses, make publish and declare this as my last will and testament.

First I desire any debt which I may owe or which ____ be, or may have been incurred by or for me or my comfort, including doctors bills, and burial expenses, shall be paid.

Second:  in partial repayment for the care and attention which my son John J. SHOEMAKER, has rendered me during my last and most dependant days I give and bequeath the following part of my home farm.
Bounded as follows - egining [sic] on a white oak tree, a corner to the Tho SHOEMAKER lands, thence an Eastwardly course with the division fence to a beech tree a corner to the W. S. SHOEMAKER land thence a Westwardly course with the line fence to two Chestnut oaks corne [sic] to Lum GILBERTS, the (blank) with the divide of the ridge to the county road thence with the County road to the corner to the Tom SHOEMAKER lands, thence with the division line to the beging  And for the same reason, I give and bequeath my daughter Letha SHOEMAKER REYNOLDS, the balance of my land.

Third to each of my other children, David SHOEMAKERs heirs Dan SHOEMAKER, Polly SHOEMAKER LAND, Mart SHOEMAKERs heirs Hiram SHOEMAKERs, Mary BARRETT and Cinda GILBERT I give the follwing personal items, namely one dollar each and evry one of you I pray the blessings of the supreme Ruller, upon us.
Witness my hand in the presence of J. H. KINCAID, and Calrk TREADWAY, this the 10th day of May, 1932.

We attest the signature of Andy B. SHOEMAKER, as being signed to the above and foregoing, in our presence and that he at the time declared it to be his last will and testament and we further attest that we have signed the foregoing as witnesses in his presence and in the presence of each other.

I, Elizabeth MATTOCKS, Clerk Lee County Court hereby certify that the foregoing Will of Andy B. SHOEMAKER, was on 9th day of July, 1934, at a regular term of the Lee County Court filed in open Court and the same was proven by the Court to be the Last Will and Testament of Andy B. SHOEMAKER, deceased, and ordered to record on the 10th day of September, 1934; and thereupon the same has been duly recorded in my said office in Will Book No. 1, page 304..
Given under my hand this 13th day of September, 1934.
