Will of H. D. Preston


 
 
Know All Men By These Presents:

That I, H. D. PRESTON, of Beattyville, Lee Co. Ky, being of sound mind and memory make this my last Will and Testament:

I.  I will that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid.

2.  I hereby will and bequeath to my beloved wife, Elizabeth L. PRESTON, all my property real, personal, and mixed, except as provided in the next item.

I will to each of my brothers and sisters namely,
H. G. PRESTON, Route 5, box 381, Rosedale Kansas $100.00
R. H. PRESTON, Berea, Kentucky  $100.00
Mrs. Fannie GADD, Berea, Kentucky  $100.00
Mrs. Jennie FLOWERS, Orriville, Ohio  $100.00
Mrs. Mary STEWART, 73 Sand Hill Road, West Asheville North Carolina  $100.00
Mrs. Elizabeth WATKINS, 1525 Central Ave. Apart. 8, Cincinnati, O.  $100.00
as a token of remembrance.  Should any of my said brothers or sisters die prvious to my death the the bequest to any and all such shall be divided equally among my surviving brothers or sisters.  Should none of my brothers or sisters survive me than all my property of every description shall go to my wife if she be living, if not to my estate as the law directs.

4.  I hereby nominate and appoint D. C. HOWELL of Beattyville, Lee Co. Ky, as my excutor, and request that he be allowed to qualigy without bond.  In testimony of which witness my hand and signature this 24 day of June 1931

I, Thomas C. PRYSE, clerk of the Lee County Court, certify that the foregoing Will of H. D. PRESTON, deceased, was filed in my office for record on 13th day of July 1931 at a Regular Term of the Lee County Court, and the same having been proven properly in open court as the Law directs, and same having lain over thirty (30) days for exceptions and none having been taken, same was ordered to record on the 10th day of August, 1931.

Whereupon the same with the foregoing and this my certificate have been duly recorded in my said office in Will Book No. 1, page 271.

Given under my hand, this 16th day of September, 1931.
