Will of Robert Godfrey


I, Robert GODFREY (of color), of Beattyville, Lee County, Kentucky, being of full age and of sound mind and memory, do make, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament, and being the only one ever made by me.

1.  I direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid out of my estate as sonn as practicable after my demise.

2.  I give and bequeath to my sister, Maggie SPICER, and her son, Jack SPICER, Jr., my nephew, both of Middleton, Ohio, all the residue (after funeral expenses and just debts are paid) of my estate, real, personal, mixed, of every kind and description, visual and contingent, wheresoever situate, which I may own or have the right to dispose of at the time of my decease, to equally share and share alkie, to pass and vest in each of them absolutely and in fee simple.

I have executed and hereby set my hand at Beattyville, Kentucky, all of my own free will and accord and without coercion or the influence of others, and that same is my free and voluntary act, this 30 day May, 1930.

Signed by Robert GODFREY, and by him acknowledged to be his last will and testament in our presence, sight and hearing, show at his request have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses in his presence, and in the presence of each other, at Beattyville, Kentucky this 30 day of May, A.D. 1930.

I, Thomas C. PRYSE, Clerk of the Lee County Court, certify that the forgoing Will of Robert GODFREY, was on the 7 day of August 1931, filed in my office, and the same being properly proven by the Court in open Court as the law directs, same was ordered to lie over (30) days for exceptions and none having been taken, same was ordered to record, whereupon the same with foregoing and this my certificate have been duly recorded in my said office in Will Book No. 1, page 274.
