George Combs Killed Wednesday

George COMBS, Owsley County farmer, was killed by wounds received near Vincent about 7 o'clock Wednesday morning, May 7.  According to reports he was shot from ambush.

COMBS, reports on his way to work in a nearby corn field, was shot eleven times with a 32-30 caliber gun.  Person who arrived at the scene stated that he had moved approximately one hundred yards from the time he was first wounded until he died.  Several shots took effect about his head.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday.

Survivers include his widow, Mrs. Ocre COMBS, six sons, Orear, Jack, Eugene, Russell, Beford and Billy, and four daughters, Leona, Mary Francis and Jennieve.
