Obituary

Cynthia Ann COMBS Marcum was born May 1, 1843, and departed this life March 5, 1939, at the age of 95 years, 10 months and 5 days.

She was united in marriage with James Moses MARCUM January 15, 1869.  To this union was born seven children, six of whom are now living.  She has been a Christian for 77 years having joined the Christian church at the age of 18.

Surviving her are three daughters, Mrs. Mark BELL, Turin;  Mrs. Sam CONGLETON, College Hill;  Mrs. James CONGLETON, Salem, Indiana;  three sons, Edgar Garrett, Ravenna;  Robert Harrison and Napoleon B., both of Turin;  two sisters, Mrs. Stratton TREADWAY, Vincent;  and Mrs. William WINN, Turin;  one brother, N. B. COMBS, Turin;  85 granchildren, 29 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Mrs. Cynthia COMBS Marcum, 95, died aat her home at Turin Sunday, March 5, of flu.  Funeral services were held Monday at the grave conducted by the Rev. Robert SMITH, burial in the Combs Cemetery near the home.

She leaves surviving her six children:  Robert, Napoleaon, Turin;  Edgar, Irvine;  Mrs. Mark BELL, Major;  Mrs. Jim CONGLETON, Salem, Ind.;  Mrs. Sam CONGLETON, College Hill;  one brother, Raleigh COMBS, Turin;  two sisters, Mrs. Stratton TREADWAY, Vincent, and Mrs. Wm. WINN, Turin.
