Funeral Rites Conducted For Matt Combs

Funeral services for Matt COMBS, 70, were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, at the Newnam Funeral Home by Rev. Sam WILSON.

Mr. COMBS, the son of the late James J. and Nannie BRANDENBURG Combs was born in Owsley County, Sept. 13, 1888 and died in Middletown, Ohio, Dec. 28.  He was a member of the Christian Church and a retired barber.

He is survived by two sons, Clayton Wilson COMBS, Franklin, Ohio, and Matt COMBS, Jr., of Miami, Florida;  one daughter, Mrs. Lucille LOWE, Middletown, Ohio; two brothers, Earl COMBS, and Conley COMBS both of Richmond;  three sisters, Mrs. Allie THOMAS, Norwood, Ohio, Mrs. Elsie SEALE, Danville; Mrs. Addie BRANDENBURG, Los Angeles, California;  and five grandchildren.

Burial was in the Combs cemetery in Owsley county with the Newnam Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
