Wounded Man Succumbs At Richmond Hospital

Richmond, Jan. 25

Anderson "Ance" PETERS, 74, of Island City, Owsley County, died at 3 p.m. today at the Pattie A. Clay Infirmary here from a bullet wound in the head said to have been inflicted by his son-in-law, Caleb REYNOLDS, 27, formally of Newport.

The shooting occurred late Saturday at Island City, Mrs. REYNOLDS, daughter of the wounded man and wife of the accused assailant, said.

REYNOLDS, former employee of the Newport Rolling Mills, Newport, is in the Owsley County jail at Booneville charged with malicious shooting and wounding with intent to kill, his wife said.

Mr. PETERS is survived by his wife and his daughter.  The REYNOLDS moved to the PETER's home in Island City a few weeks ago from Newport.

The body will be taken to Island City for burial.
