This indenture made this 15th day of August 1825 between Elizabeth Stacy and James Davidson, both of the County of Scott and State of Virginia of the one part and John Summerlin of the County of Perry and State of Kentucky of the other part, Witnesseth that the said Elizabeth Stacy, being the widow of Simon Stacy late of the County of Perry and State of Kentucky (perhaps then, Floyd County), and that the said Simon died seized in the fee of fifty acres of land situated in the said County, who demised to his said widow, Elizabeth all estate in said lands for the term of fifteen years and whereas the said lands having descended to the heirs at law of the said Simon in fee simple, they the said heirs bargained and sold to the said Davidson the said lands, for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars to them in hand paid, Now this indenture witnesseth that the said Elizabeth Stacy and James Davidson for and in consideration of the sum of Three hundred dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, had bargined and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said John Summerlin the same fifty acres of land, be the same more or less, lying and being, situate in the said County of Perry, formerly Floyd on the north fork of the Kentucky river at the mouth of the rock house fork of which the said Summerlin is now possessed being the same tract conveyed by deed from one John Carnan of the State of Maryland to the said Simon Stacy and bounded as follows to wit: - Beginning at a sugar tree corner to John Dixon standing on the north bank of the river, thence S 88 E 138 poles to a hickory and elm, corner to Henry Conley thence down the river with its different meanders to the beginning, containing fifty acres be the same more or less. To have and to hold the said tract of land with all its appurtenances unto the said John Summerlin his heirs and assigns forever and the said Elizabeth Stacy and James Davidson for themselves and their heirs doth coveneant with the said John Summerlin and his heirs that unto him the said Summerlin, him and his heirs, they will warrant and forever defend the right and title to said land against the claim or claims of themselves, their heirs and of all persons whatsoever.

In witness whereof we have hereunto subscribed our names and affixed our seals the day and year first above writtehn.

I, Jesse Combs, Clerk of the Court for the County aforesaid do hereby certify that the within deed was proven before me by the oath of one of the subscribing witnesses on the third day of April 1826 and on the day of ________ (blank) proven by the oath of one of the other subscribing witnesses to be the act and deed of the within named Elizabeth Stacy and James Davidson, subscibing party thereto, and that the said same is duly recorded in my office according to law.
