William Penn Noble Obituary
(1829-1908)

Born 10 May 1829 on Troublesome in Perry county (now Breathitt).  His parents were George Buckeye Noble and Sarah McDaniel.  William's nickname was "Paynter", after the animal panther.  William married his cousin Levina Noble on 12 July 1852 by Losson Noble.  They had three boys and two girls.

William fought for the south during the War Between the States and was captured at Gladesville, Va when his company surrendered.  When captured, he took the oath and swore allegiance to the United States and was turned loose.

William passed away 19 October 1908 at the age of 78 years.
