Thanks Bob & Nancy!

In 1820 Grant County was created from a portion of Pendleton County.  The following is an alphabetical list of the names of the first taxpayers of Grant County, followed by the water course, if given, on which the taxpayer's property lay.  Occasionally the taxpayer owned additional land in a county other that Grant; in those instances, the county or counties and water courses, if available, are also provided.  The material was transcribed by Robert L. Bickers from a microfilm of the original tax book.  Mr. Bickers has done genealogical research since 1966.  He is the compiler of five volumes of Grant Co., Ky. Newspaper Abstracts covering the Williamstown Courier (1880-1909).
