On September 11, 2001, America’s first wave of heroes was called into action.  Firefighters, police, and “average” citizens responded to the call with determination and valor.  We will never forget the thousands lost or the images of destruction.  

To prove that those deaths were not in vain, America now sends out her second wave.  Thousands of young men and women leave their families as they are called to defend our freedom, protect our shores, and restore order to the world.  With them go our prayers and promise to keep the American spirit strong at home.  We pledge our support to them and our care of their families.  We vow to keep the home fires burning brightly to guide them safely back.  We assure them that we will stand tall and wait patiently, yet eagerly, for the return of our victors!
