On a list of names, "all of whom are presumed to have answered the call and enrolled themselves for service", found on reverse side of a formal written announcement of the attack on Lexington, April, 1775. On the list of minute-men of the regular Springfield company, under Maj. Andrew Colton who marched to Boston on April 20, 1775 for service of 10 days; Private. On list of Capt. INGRAHAM, Jonathan of Amherst. On a list of those not known in the town records but are credited to Amherst. On expedition that marched for the defense of Bennington, Aug. 17, 1777, under command of Capt. Oliver Smith. They supplied their own provisions, carried their own baggage, and were out seven days [page 84] [spelled Ingram]. INGRAM, John of Amherst. Col. Ruggles Woodbridge Hampshire County regiment; Reuben Dickinson's company which was one of the first from this vicinity to respond to the Lexington alarm of April 19, 1775 [page 78]. The company marched to Cambridge and was in commission eleven days, although some of its members remained longer in service. Lieutenant Eli Parker's company, Cambridge alarm [page 79]. On a list of those who served two months from May 7 to July 8, 1777, under Capt. John Thompson, called out to reinforce the Northern army [page 83]. Lieut. Noah Dickinson's command that responded to the alarm at New Providence Aug. 18, 1777, being out four days [page 84]. Capt. INGRAM, Philip of Amherst. Capt. Samuel Cooks's company that went to the front and was attached to Col. Woodbridge's regiment in the army of Gen. Gates, Aug. 17 - Dec. 7, 1777, as reinforcements for the Northern army. They took part in the battles of Sept. 19 and Oct. 7, and were present at the surrender of Burgoyne, Oct. 17 [page 84]. INGRAM, Samuel of Amherst. Listed on the return dated Jan. 13, 1776 from Charlestown Camp No. 3, of Capt. James Hendrick's company which went to Cambridge at the time of the Lexington alarm [page 80]. With Capt. Reuben Dickinson's company that marched to Mosses' creek to reinforce the army and was attached to Col. Elisha Porter's regiment, July, 1777. The company served 38 days [page 84].
