(*) Age taken from deposition in the North will case, Supreme Court files, Boston, 1671-4. It does not seem probable that he was nearly related to the Ipswich Hubbards. Possibly he may have been a brother of the A. minister, though we find no Richard ment. among the sons of Rev. Peter Hobart or Hubbard [p. 17].
The town of Amesbury, in 1667, granted to [Richard?] Hubbard a "common right when he comes to live among us;" but he seems to have settled in S. bef. that date. As this is nearly the time of Rev. Mr. Hubberd's service in A., it may possibly refer to him [p. 17]. Henry Wheeler of S. deeded house and land in S. to Richard Hubbard, 1684. Richard Hubbard of Boston deeded property in S. to Abigail Wheeler of Boston, wid. of Henry Wheeler, in 1696. He could not, however, have been long a resident of Boston.
NOTE.--A Mary Hubbard m. Thomas Watson, May 19, 1687[S Sm]. A Wid. Hannah Hubbard m. Ephraim Roberts of Hv., Jan. 10, 1701-2.

HUBBARD FAMILY (Pages 209-211)
There were Hubbards in Exeter in 1636 and 1667; a Jeremiah Hubbard, of Portsmouth, 1669. Mr. Jeremiah Hubbard was minister at Wells, April, 1667, but stayed only 4 mos.
A Richard Hubbard was recd. as an inhabitant of Dover, Jan. 10, 1658-9, possibly (8) Richard.
| 13 | JOSEPH HUBBARD m. Aug. 4, 1698, at Boston, Thankful Brown; res. Boston. |
10 JOHN HUBBARD rem. to Kingston in 1704 or '5. Descendants are given in "Hubbard History," 512 pp., where a tradition is printed about (8) Richard, with a list of passengers containing the name. [Compiled by Edward Warren Day, published by Harlan Page Hubbard, New York, 1895.]
HUBBARD FAMILY (Pages 209-211, 759)
8 RICHARD HUBBARD, b. ab. 1631; rec'd a grant of land in S. as early as 1661. It has been suggested that Martha Allen may have been his second wife, and that Hannah, wife of (10) THOMAS3 EATON, may have been his dau. by his first wife.
10 JOHN HUBBARD prob. m. (5a) JANE FOLLENSBY, or FOLLANSBEE. See p. 960. S. V. R. give m. bet. 1689 and '91, instead of 1688.
