WELLS, WILLIAM, born December 13, 1760 in Goshen, Orange County, New York, died 25th of December, 1838 at the age of 78 years. (Goshen Democrat 12-28-1838) in Minisink, Orange County, New York. Interred at Union Hill Cemetery, Slate Hill, New York. Son of Abijah Wells, born 1725 (calc.) and Catherine Allison), born before 1736 (Calc.). William Wells was a Veteran of the Revolutionary War. (N.A.R.A. Pension File # 14220). He married ELIZABETH KESIAH SKINNER in 1785 in the First Presbyterian Church in Goshen, Orange County, New York. (*Listed in "Register of Members", page 50 on June 12, 1785 as wife of William Wells; see note)
