6George Cheyne Shattuck, M.D., LL.D., was born in Templeton, Massachusetts, July 17, 1783. He graduated at Dartmouth College in 1803, and was a Fellow of the Amerlcan Academy of Arts and Sciences, and President of the Massachusetts Medical Society. Dr. Bartol preached a memorial sermon after his death, which occurred in Boston, March 18, 1854. His son, of the same name and profession, born July 22, 1813, was baptised by Dr. Lowell, August 29, following. He graduated at Harvard in 1831, was a prominent member of the Church of the Advent in Boston, and the founder of St. Paul's School at Concord, New Hampshire. He died in Boston, March 22, 1893.-E. W.
