Located on Bainbridge Center Road, one half mile south of Napier Avenue on the west side of the road, or one half mile north of Meadowbrook Road. A gated fence surrounds the cemetery. This cemetery began as the burial ground for people living in the Penn Yan settlement (the southwest portion of Bainbridge Township)

Penn Yan is also village of about 5,200 in central western New York State. It is on the N.E. end of the Y shaped Keuka Lake, one of the "Finger Lakes". It is mostly rural with some light industry. There are many Mennonite farms in the area, as well as vineyards and wineries. Check out this web site on Penn Yan, NY. http://www.villageofpennyan.com/.

The cemetery is still used in 2004. Some of the markers are badly worn, some have fallen from their foundations, some are laying on the ground and will soon become unreadable because of the encroaching grass. All of the markers could use a trim around the base. Some newer markers and many of the old are actually sinking into the soft ground, prematurely becoming unreadable (all of the ground is very soft.)

Question marks indicate I am unable to determine date because of wear or that I have found conflicting date. This data should be researched further as with ALL of the data on any of these pages. The headstone is not a primary document which can be taken as proof on its own. DO YOUR RESEARCH!
