DAVIS, HOFFMAN, HUCK posted by Dennis Zabel on Thursday, September 7, 2000: Nina Katherine Huck (Davis, Hoffman) - I looked up the above under Nina K. in the SSDI and it showed her as the only Nina born in 1892 in MI. I have info Nina K. Davis was born in Cass City. She married my 1/2 cousin, Otto B. Hoffman about 1917, probably in Detroit. Otto was a tailor. He had previously been married to Helma (last name unknown). Nina and Otto had one son, Frank Bernard Hoffman, who was born on 15 Jul 1918. I do not know if Nina remarried after Otto died in 1920 (maybe in Ohio). I suspect she wanted to return to her "up north" roots. While in Detroit, she worked as an operator at Western Union Telephone Company. At the time of her death, she was living in East Tawas. She died on 24 Jun 1984 in East Tawas, MI. Is there a local newspaper that may have carried her obit?

FILLION, LACOMBE posted by Don LaCombe on Saturday, September 23, 2000: Fillion - Trying to find more information on my grandmother Odile Fillion, she was born Feb 16 1867 I think in Hull Que and married in Au Sable May 26 1884 to Leandre LaCombe. I just received a copy of their marriage license from the Iosco county clerk but it does not list her parents. The 1860 Tawas census lists a John Fillion age 30 and also have found a reference to a Hormidas Fillion married July 12 1890. I have a feeling that there is a connection but I have run into a brick wall as I have been all over the internet with no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

CARR, MERVYN, SCHMITT posted by Nancy (Mervyn) Carpenter on Thursday, November 9, 2000: Mervyn - I'm looking for information on any Mervyns or relatives of them in Michigan. I'm told there are a lot of them buried in the West Branch Cemetary.
Francis Hulborne Mervyn emigrated to this area in 1913 with his wife Lavina (Schmitt) and his children. Lavina also had some of her Schmitt family who also emigrated to Michigan.
Also looking for information on Ann Mervyn who migrated date unknown and married John Carr, marriage date unknown. And had 4 children and lived in the Alpena area. She died in Canada in 1888. It was told to me she possibly was living in the Saginaw area before her marriage to John Carr. But can't find any records on her.
I have a lot of information on the Mervyn's but do have some holes I need to fill in. Willing to share information! Thank-you

Parents to Julia Koepke:
Mother: Johanna Paisell, b: 3 Oct. 1832 in Germany, d: 29 Jan. 1917 in Tawas City, Iosco Co., MI.
Father: Fredrick Koepke, b: 9 Aug. 1832 in Germany, d: 4 Apr. 1917 in Tawas City, Iosco Co., MI.
Children to this marriage:
Mrs. Fred Lickfeldt from Prescott, MI
Paul Koepke from Tawas City, MI
John Koepke from Onaway, MI
I don't know if any of the children listed above are still living or not. I know Julia Jenny Koepke Stetler passed away. Thank you.

NIVISON posted by Francis William Nivison on Monday, January 1, 2001: I found your listing of Funeral Records of Iosco County and thank you for putting them on the internet. Is there some way that we could get more information on someone that is on your list.
I am interested in someone on your list, Wm. ?ivison who ordered the funeral for his stillborn son. The name is NIVISON and is my uncle. I know he died in E. Tawas City in 1947. I would like to know who his wife was and other children.
