The American Local History Network is a central point of entry to independent web sites with historical or genealogical content. If you are interested in hosting a Michigan county, please contact Bonnie McVicar-BriggsLesley Moss  or Sondra Higbee, the State Coordinators for Michigan. We will be happy to help you. We would be happy to have volunteers who prefer to host a township, city or cover a topic in a township too, such as religion, history, cemeteries, occupations, etc. We can easily link your page to the County it falls under. If you want to contribute, please check out the Volunteer FAQ Page. If you have any questions concerning submitting information to Keweenaw or find bad links please email the webmaster.

Keweenaw County gets its' name from a  Native American word, "Kee-wi-wai-non-ing" meaning "portage" or "place where portage is made" is the source of this name.
