CONLEY, NORTHWAY, VANNATTER, WILBUR
posted by Bob Swenson on Friday, January 1, 1999
George W. (?William) CONLEY [1839-abt 1888] emigrated from his home in Canada West in 1861 to Michigan and married (Hannah) Mariah WILBUR (1842-14 Nov 1898) and settled in Goodland, Lapeer where they had three children, Edwin b.1863, William H. b. 1867 and Oren b. 1868. Hannah Mariah's parents were Joel WILBUR and Hannah VANNATTER of Almont, Lapeer. Altho I cannot find a Death record for George W. CONLEY, he probably died 1888 and his widow and three sons migrated to Columbia, South Dakota to join Hannah Mariah's younger brothers, Henry and Martin WILBUR, who had gone there with the Lapeer Land Co. in 1884. I am looking for any information about George W. CONLEY including his origins in Canada, and his Death Record. Interestingly there is a Charles and Eva CONLEY family living in Lapeer county in 1860 also originating from Canada West.

I am wondering if Richard b. ca. 1800 and George b. ca. 1805 are brothers of my ancestor Perry HAGEDON b. 17 Feb 1819 in Jefferson Co, NY, who settled in Algonac and later Harbor Beach, Michigan.
