Bottom Center: The Fair historical building located near the Frosty Cow.

The Lenawee County fair began in 1839.  Initially the grounds were centralized in Adrian but were moved to the east side in 1879.   The Fair Board, Agricultural society, Grange and 4-H organizations have worked together through the years to make the Lenawee county fair a family-oriented, clean, positive form of entertainment and friendly competition.

Fun Facts:

  • After WWII, Quonset Huts were used for 4-H youth lodging. Eventually these were removed and individual campers were encouraged for families.
  • Early Fair Queen contestants did not demonstrate talent acts as part of their competition.
  • During the 1980s the Bandshell sponsored a "Ms. Lenawee" contest for the men.
