Johnson, Ebenezer West   Enlisted on September 3rd, 1861 at Monroe for 3 years, age 27. Mustered on September 5th, 1861. Contracted Typhoid at Camp near Washington, DC but still somehow managed to accompany the Regiment to Poolesville, Maryland, where he became extremely ill. After a period of extreme suffering he was discharged for disability from the heart disease as a result of typhoid at Camp Benton, Maryland on November 1st, 1861. Died in 1913. Buried at Brookside Cemetery, Tuscola County. Some comments taken from the History of Tuscola and Bay Counties, H.R Page & Co. Chicago Ill, 1883
Johnson, Edward Saginaw County Enlisted as a Corporal on June 19th, 1861 at Fort Wayne for 3 years, age 23. Mustered on August 22nd, 1861. Promoted to Sergeant on April 23rd, 1862. Wounded in Action at the Battle of Gettysburg on July 3rd, 1861. Re-enlisted at Berryville, Virginia on February 24th, 1864. Mustered on February 24th. Wounded in action at the Battle of the Wilderness on May 6th, 1864. Promoted to 1st Sergeant some time during the rest of his service. Died on May 22nd, 1893, buried in Tanner Cemetery, Genesee Township, Genesee County. Discharged for disability at Washington DC on June 10th, 1865.
Johnson, Perry Fairgrove, Tuscola County Enlisted on August 7th, 1861 at Fairgrove for 3 years, age 23, mustered on August 22nd, 1861. Promoted to Sergeant sometime during service. Wounded in Action at the Battle of Gettysburg in his right arm on July 2nd, 1863. Wounded on September 17th, 1863 in his left arm while on picket duty on the Rapidan River, Virginia. Discharged at Petersburg, Virginia August 22nd, 1864. Died on October 4th, 1888. Buried in Riverside Cemetery, Vassar, Lot 6, section O. Kingston and Harlow Pelton Post 453 G.A.R. Kingston. Died in 1927, Buried at Kingston Cemetery Lot 6, 2, Div A, Tuscola County.
Lamson, Virgil Frankenmuth Enlisted on August 20th, 1861 at Monroe for 3 years, age 21. Mustered on August 29th, 1861. Died of disease at Frederick, Maryland on September 24th, 1862. Michigan Indexes show his name at Cemetery as Lamison, Steven Stotelmyers book - index "The Bivouac of the Dead" of the Antietam National Cemetery shows him as V.R. Lampson, death date September 20th, 1862, Grave Number 2404 Antietam National Cemetery, Originally interred at Frederick, Maryland, Remains later moved to Antietam National Cemetery
Leavitt, James S. Tuscola County Enlisted as 2nd Lieutenant on June 19th, 1861 at Fort Wayne for 3 years, age 40. Mustered on June 19th 1861. Resigned at Yorktown, Virginia on April 24th, 1862.
Love, James Tuscola County Enlisted on August 9th, 1861 at Tuscola for 3 years, age 20. Mustered on August 22nd, 1861. Killed in action at the Battle of Antietam on September 17th, 1862.
Lyon, Asmer or Hosmer Tuscola County Enlisted on August 20th, 1861 at Monroe for 3 years, age 19. Mustered on August 22nd. Reported missing in action at the Seige of Yorktown.

Re-enlisted at Stevensburg, Virginia on December 18th, 1863, Mustered on December 19th, 1863. Was promoted to Sargent during service. Was mustered out at Jeffersonville, Indiana on July 5th, 1865. His memoirs of his service can be found at the US Army Military Institute at Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania. CWTI Collection. Mr. Osterle's {Osterlee} memoirs are quoted greatly in Mr. Townshend's book on the 7th. Belonged to Whiteside Post 143, G.A.R. Caro, Tuscola County.
