Was bookkeeper Farnsworth’s Shoe House, Detroit, 1888-91, and bookkeeper Central Savings Bank, 1891-96; entered real estate and investment business, 1895, and is at head of the Real Estate Trust Co. (established, 1906), dealers in real estate, stocks, bonds and securities, as principal and as agent; also head of J.R. Pearson & Co., dealers in mining properties. Republican. Protestant. PEARSON, William F.; born, Waterloo, N.Y., June 25, 1857; son of William and Elizabeth (Miller) Pearson; educated in public schools of Waterloo; married at Saginaw, Mich., 1900, Lyda Craig. Began active career in insurance business, at Waterloo, continuing for ten years; removed to Saginaw, 1890, and organized the U.S. Health and Accident Insurance Co., of which he was president until he retired, 1903; located in Detroit and organized The Dreamland Doll Co., 1904. Peck, Albert F.; born, Port Jervis, N.Y., Sept. 8, 1863; son of Augustus H. and Eliza J. (Bullock) Peck; educated in public schools of Port Jervis and at Eastman Business College, Poughkeepsie, NY.; widower. Came to Detroit, 1884; entered steamboat business with the Northwestern Transportation o., continuing until 1888; assisted in organizing firm of Beecher, Peck & Lewis, 1888, in which has since continued; vice president Northwestern Transportation Co.; director Detroit united Bank. PECK, George, banker; born, Lyme, Conn., Nov. 5, 1834; son of George R. and Elizabeth (Lee) Peck; educated in district school and at Essex Academy; married at Detroit, Oct. 28, 1858, Sarah F. Butler. Began active career in dry goods business at Utica, N.Y.; formed partnership with J.W. Frisbie and engaged in dry goods business in Detroit, 1857, firm dissolved, 1860, and he continued in business on Woodward Av. alone until 1887, when he retired on account of ill health and engaged in other lines of business. One of the organizers of the First National Bank, Old Detroit National Bank, The National Bank of Commerce, the American Exchange National Bank, and the Michigan Savings Bank, and has been president of the latter since 1881. Also president (since organization) Edison Illuminating Co., Stewart Transportation Co., George B. Peck Dry Goods Co., Kansas City, Mo. (since death of son, George B. Peck); vice president Nelson, Baker & Co., Detroit White lead Works; director and member of the finance committee, Detroit Trust Co.; director and member of the finance committee, Detroit Trust Co.; director and chairman auditing committee, Michigan Mutual Life Insurance Co.; director and chairman Detroit Fire and Marine Insurance Co.; director and treasurer Peninsular Electric Light Co.; financial agent in charge of endowment funds of the Protestant Orphan Asylum; trustee and treasurer of Home and Day School. PELTIER, Charles F., general insurance and adjusting; born, Detroit, Oct. 6, 1844; son of Charles and Eliza V. (Cicotte) Peltier; educated in Capitol and Barstow schools, Detroit, Gregory’s Commercial College, and Dr. Solden’s Private School; unmarried. Began in business with his father under firm name of Charles Peltier & Son, general insurance agents; succeeded to the business, upon death of his father, Sept. 22, 1871, and has since conducted the oldest established insurance agency in Detroit; also acts as adjuster. PELTON, Charles E.; born on farm in LaPeer Co., Mich., May 6, 1873; son of Richard De Warren and Clarinda (Butler) Pelton; public school education; married at Au Sable, Mich., July 18, 1894, Emma Ludlan. Lived on farm until 17; clerked in clothing store at Au Sable on years; was engaged in lumber business at Au Sable, 1894-98, and owned millinery goods store at Oscoda, Mich., during same time; removed to Detroit, 1898, and entered factory of Crescent Machine Co., became secretary, 1905, and director 1907. Learned wagon making trade and worked at it for seven years; became connected with Cremer Bros & Co., wholesale tobacco and cigars, as member of the firm, 1881; succeeded to the business under firm name of Louis Peters, incorporated, 1900, as Louis Peters & Co., of which he has been president from time of incorporation. PETZ, John, president and superintendent Detroit Show Case Co.; born, Germany, Feb. 19, 1851; son of Christian and Sophia (Hildebrand) Petz; educated in Gymnasium, Germany; came to America, 1867; married near Monroe, Mich., 1872, Miss Adolphia Mach. Learned trade of cabinet maker in the old country and followed same in United States until 1872; entered employ of John Phillips & Co., show case manufacturers, Detroit, 1872, and continued with the firm as superintendent for twenty-nine years; resigned, 1902, and founded the Detroit Show Case Co.; bought out business of John Phillips & Co., July, 1907, and merged it into his own; built modern factory at 490 Fort Street, West. PFEIFFER, Conrad; born in Germany, Mar. 7, 1854; son of Conrad and Elizabeth Pfeiffer; educated in public schools of Germany; came to America, 1871, and located in Detroit; married at Detroit, 1880, Miss Louisa Cramer. Began active career by learning the brewer’s trade with the Kling Brewing Co.; later was connected in various capacities with the Goebel and other brewing companies; organized and established the C.
