Bernia (Bernier) - I am trying to compile a list of all descendants of my g-g-grandparents, Louis Bernia (1841-1933) and Rose Salgat (1849 - 1935). They lived in Reese, Tuscola, MI. They were married in Anchorville, St. Clair, MI, in 1869, and moved to Denmark Twp., in the early 1880's. They moved to the village of Reese in their old age. They had the following children: Josephine (m. G. E. Markhart), Stephen, Joseph, Elizabeth (unmarried), Emma (m. F. Kenney), Arthur, Alice (m. J. Legault), and Adeline (unmarried). Richard A. Covell/Covel/Covill/Covil/Coville This family was first found in Lenawee and Muskegon County areas. I've been able to trace one line of the family (Ezra and James COVELL) back to London, England, and have a fairly good database of about 4,100 people using the above spelling variations. They were first found in the Plymouth/Edgartown, MA areas. There is another line going back to Nathaniel COVELL of Chelmsford, England, who initially settled in Yarmouth, MA. Freeman - FREEMAN Marin and Ann came from Canada. Settle in Elmwood Twp (Gagetown) Tuscola Co.MI in 1880. Children were John, William, Mary,Ann, Thomas, Patrick, Moses, Joseph, and Margaret (all born in Canada). Martin was born in Ireland On Oct.1827-died June 6, 1907. Had two more children in Michigan - Martin and Arthur. The 1900 census shows Martin and Ann with Joseph, Maggie, Martin and Arthur. Found his obtitary saying he was an old and respected citizen of Brookfield. He leaves to mourn his loss a wife, six sons and two daughters. Bury at St. Agatha Cemetery in Gagetown, MI. Graham - I am looking for information on Benjamin GRAHAM, my Great Grandfather. All I know about him is that he resided in Saginaw, MI when my Grandmother was born (1903) and lived there until she was 16 (1919). At 16 her family disowned her because she got pregnant. She is deceased and did not tell me any of this, I have learned this after her death. My Grandmother is Ida GRAHAM and was born in Saginaw, MI on June 3, 1903. Her mothers name was Elinora or "Ella" BIDWELL. I was told that my grandmother (Ida) had 7 brother all older than her. Lewis - Cassius Andrew Lewis and his wife, Bertha Luvilla Lewis (maiden name Putnam) were residents of Caro at the turn of the Century. Berth's parents were Abraham Putnam and Maryanne Best. Cassius and Bertha had four children: Doris, Maryanne, Nellis, and Glenn Lewis. Maryanne was my grandmother. She was m. to Delbert Hartley from the Caro area. Interested in information about Cassius and Bertha Lewis, Abraham and Maryanne Best, and anything about Delbert Hartley. Bertha was buried in a cemetery in or adjacent to Caro. Merrill - Seeking information on Fred Merrill, b. July 25, 1860, in Portsmouth, MI. Moved to Tuscola in 1859 with parents, Andrew J and Elizabeth Merrill. Fred Merrill married ? about 1884 or 1885. They had a son (name unknown) and a daughter (name unknown). His wife divorced him and took the children and left Tuscola. Does anyone know their names? Fred Merrill remarried on December 8, 1896, to Edith Katura (Kate) Cole. Kate had a daughter named Elizabeth K. Crutchfield Merrill who was a schoolteacher in Arbilla about 1910. MICKS-DEAN-SHADER-SACKETT - Nelson MICKS migrated to Michigan from Canada in 1864- 65. He married Elizabeth DEAN at Watrousville July 17, 1869. She may have been a widow with children. They had a daughter Deletta, who married Adelbert SHADER around 1893. Delatta & Adelbert appears to have had a daughter Milba who married Ewart SACKETT. Elizabeth (Dean) Micks died August 16,1909. Spencer - Anyone have info on Amos Spencer and Deborah (Hunt) Spencer who lived in Tuscola Co MI from at least 1870 until 1893 when Deborah died? Amos had died prior to that year. They came from Herkimer Co NY and Crawford Co PA, and had kids: John Orlando, Orilla, Albert, Nancy, Martha, Thirza, Nathan, Wilber and Leona. Although all were born in either NY or PA, some may have come to MI with Amos and Deborah. It appears son John Orlando Spencer who married Melissa Walters, lived in Tuscola Co.
