Santee - Looking for parent of John Clinton SANTEE, b. Oct. 13, 1839 in PA. Living in Juniata, Tuscola, MI in 1860 Census. He was not yet emancipated, but was living with his family. I cannot read his father's name, who was a blacksmith and a Methodist Minister. Those living in the home were: Anne, 41, b. PA, John Clinton, 20, Mary, 15, Samantha 11, Anna M., 8, and Huldah A., 5. Cannot find the main family in the 1870 Tuscola Census, but have located John Clinton Santee, age 29, farmer, living in Columbia Twp., with wife Charlotte, 32, and Blanche, age 3. In pension records I found that Charlotte sued for divorce and had custody of Blanche. Date of decree: Jul. 7, 1875, in Caro. Schneider - I'm attempting to find some history concerning my grandfather Oscar Y. Schneider and my father Dalvin Oscar Schneider. Oscar was a minister (Evangelical or Lutheran) in the Cass City area during the period surrounding 1911. Dalvin was born May 3, 1898 in Verona Township, Huron County and later moved to Cass City with his father. I am particularly interested in contacting churches where my grandfather may have served and also finding out about children of a first marriage that my father Dalvin had while in the Saginaw Bay area roughly during the period between 1918 and 1927. Sloat - I am trying to get to the pre adoption parents of my grandfather, Jacobus Sloat. I have a birth date of October 26, 1895 from the adoption record. A new search method that I thought of today during a discussion was to find the correct Bay City/County newspaper for that time period and then find out where to view that newspaper. I live in Howell so the State library is 40 minutes away if the correct newspaper is on microfilm, John Corrion

Spencer - I am looking for Daniel Spencer b. 1796, and Maria Perkins. Maria died in either 1848 or 1849 in Tuscola County, MI. They had the following children: Moses, Amanuel, Joseph, and James. Spiekerman - I am researching the SPIEKERMAN family of Tuscola County. My great-great grand-parents were: William SPIEKERMAN b. ca 1858 d. c 1923 & Hannah (Johannah) TECHLIN b. ca 1859 d. ca 1928. William & Hannah are both buried in Denmark Township Cemetery, Reese, Mi. William & Hannah had several children - Alice, Emma, Anna b. 7 Nov 1891 d. 19 Jun 1977(my great-grandmother) Ella, William & Linda. William served in WWI. Steele - I am looking for Ella Jane Steele's grandparents. She was born in Caro in 1866 and died there 1918. Her father was John Steele (1830-1904) andher mother was Sarah Stewart (1833-1909). Ella Jane married Herbert Charles Spaulding Oct. 1889 in Caro. Herbert was the son of Ariel Spaulding, the undertaker. They had several children, Earl Clark was one. He was my grandfather. Tyo - TYO/RUSHLEAU - Looking for any Tuscola County information re: the Surname TYO. David Tyo m. Francis RUSHLEAU. Believe they are buried in Cass City or Gagetown. They ahd the following children: Marie, who m. William WHILEY and they later moved to Phoenix, Arizona. Other TYO children: May; Clem; David A. (b. June 6, 1887, d. April 27, 1958); Leo (b. 1893 - and also known as Joe Barnes); and son, Joy (my grandfather) who was b. October 31, 1896 and d. August 7, 1846, in Houghton Lake. He married Adeline G. Van Horn - Ancestors of Benjamin Van Horn, husband of Irene Milliard of Clawson, MI. Benjamin came to Michigan about 1850 Settled in Hunter's Creek later in Farmer's Creek, both in Lapeer county. Benjamin and Irene later moved to Kingston, Tuscola county, where they died. They had 9 children, Cornelius, Benjamin, Oliver, Simon, John, a daughter who died young, Cryus, Alvin, and George. Warren - Looking for any information regarding the family of Samantha Jane WARREN, b. 1853, in Richfield, Genesse County. She m. Daniel L. SPENCER February 22,1869, in Gilford, Tuscola, MI. Marriage certificate states that they were both residents of Gilford. Samantha died in 1825 and is buried in Gilford Cemetary. I know there was a WARREN farm in Gilford. Am looking for any information about the family who owned it. Daniel SPENCER worked on the farm from 1859-1860. Am also looking for information about Daniel L. SPENCER. Young - Looking for information on the Young family who moved from Tuscola Co. to Arenac Co. One of the children, Ellen, married Robert Reid.
