The Unionville General Hospital
is one of the best equipped village hospitals in the state. The new residence of Fred W. Skirlo was purchased in 1915 and rearranged for convenience and furnished at about $5,000.00 expense. It has a fine well lighted operating room on the second floor equipped for every emergency. Nine patients can be accommodated at once. Three rooms on this floor are finely furnished by the members of Moravian Aid Society and one by the Lutheran congregation. On the first floor is the men's and women's wards, and the superintendents room furnished by the M. E. Aid Society. It has a dining room, kitchen and bath, fine basement, arranged for fruit, vegetables, laundry and furnace room. Dr. Kaven should have the credit for getting this fine institution for Unionville. Miss Frances Hydorn is superintendent, Frances Dickinson and Esther Slocum student attendants. The directors are: H.G. Spring, C.H. Geyer, L.D. See, H.E. Schilling and E.W. Slocum.
